What is South Carolina Job Ready U.?

The S.C. Department of Employment and Workforce (DEW) announced in 2016 the statewide online soft-skills curriculum, South Carolina Job Ready U., which is ready for use and is available at no cost to job seekers, existing workers, students and businesses as a resource to strengthen your workforce.

S.C. JOB Ready U. is a FREE self-paced, 11-module, online assessment that addresses key workplace skills that existing and emerging workforce need to have in order to be successful in the workplace and school.

Soft skills are important attributes, including communication skills, time management and problem solving skills. S.C. Job Ready U. has two modules, Basic Employability and Professional Work Ethic, that highlight these specific skillsets to help build a better employee.

This online curriculum provides state partners, businesses and educational entities the opportunity to enhance client, student and employee abilities in an 11-skills module.

A certificate is provided at the completion of each module mastered at 70% or above.

The user can skip modules.

If you are interested in using this complimentary curriculum with your business or school, all it requires is an appointed administrator and instructors. These appointed individuals will then need to be trained via face-to-face or webinar. Training can be held at the entity facility or DEW.

Before access can be provided to administrators or instructors, they need to complete the Navigating Educate Workforce steps, print the certificate and forward a copy to the Trainer. (See PDF for the Navigating Educate Workforce steps)

If you are an individual who is interested in using the online training to gain additional employment skills, specialize in a field or to help learn soft skills for employment you can be placed into the program in your area, just sign-up at https://scjru.educateworkforce.com/
