What are the benefits of Rapid Response?


The value of early intervention assistance has been consistently demonstrated across the state and nation. The initial meeting with management allows for resource planning and identification of needed services. The opportunity for on-site briefings with affected workers allows them to make the most informed decisions concerning their future. When workers have information and access to adjustment and reemployment services before they are laid off, they tend to have a more positive attitude towards their employer and production levels are maintained. Thus, pre-layoff meetings have worked to the benefit of both employers and employees, as well as the workforce system and community at large. They are critical in ensuring a smooth transition and reemployment success for employees and families impacted by a layoff.

The S.C. Legislature has changed the requirement for UI Benefits eligibility. Claimants now must make at least two (2) weekly job search contacts through SC Works Online Services at You must register with the site and sign on with your username and password for the search to be counted in our system.

If you do not conduct two searches through the SC Works Online System you will not receive payment for the week.
