The State DWU makes immediate telephone contact with an employer to offer and coordinate Rapid Response services under the following circumstances:

• Upon receipt of a notice of layoff or plant closure as required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act;

• When an employer voluntarily notifies a local SC Works Center or the State DWU; or,

• When the DWU becomes aware of such event through other sources.

ATTENTION Claimants: Don’t lose your benefits
The S.C. Legislature has changed the requirement for UI Benefits eligibility. Claimants now must make at least two (2) weekly job search contacts through SC Works Online Services at jobs.scworks.org. You must register with the site and sign on with your username and password for the search to be counted in our system.

If you do not conduct two searches through the SC Works Online System you will not receive payment for the week.
